Tennis & Basketball Courts

Franklin Park Tennis Association manges the courts adjacent to the Resting Place / Shattuck Picnic Grove and has an active family tennis program that is open to all. Free youth and adult lessons happen several times a week all summer long. Tennis players who "drop in" can always find a game. The FPTA Tournament in  mid-August shows off some of the best tennis in Boston!

Another pair of tennis courts are located at the edge of the Playstead, adjacent to White Stadium. These are less busy; you never have to wait to play.

Two full basketball courts are next to the Playstead tennis courts. With the help of the Smith Family Fund, they have just been repaved. A new set of poles, backboards and nets should be installed before next spring. Teens can always find a pickup game at the courts.  A single basketball hoop is near the rear or Giraffe Entrance to the Zoo. You'll always finds kids playing here.
